Hey, I finished "the shadow of the wind", it was really good, just a bit sad. It's set in Spain and paints a really enchanting picture of the city and its soul. And it's heartfelt and romantic.

How weird your friend was. With help like that I'm not sure you needed her. Friends choose the oddest moments to become bitches. My so called (ex) best friend decided she would flip out 3 months before my wedding, where she was supposed to be my bridesmaid and help me with everything. It made me stronger and I am sure you have learnt from your 'friend' too.

not sure quite how old you are, or how much your bookstore pays, but if you are over 16 you could get a job in a call centre. Mine pays £6.50 an hour, which is great if you are only young.

Ok, that's strange... She had the wrong idea about 'trying to help'.
But I think it's important to have at least one person you can turn to... Someone who'll just sit and listen and doesn't try something that ridiculous to 'help'. But you'll be fine. :)

Looking back, I think I can't have been so much smarter than her. I mean, I missed all the signs. Her favourite song was "My friends" by RHCP. Which starts with: "My friends are so depressed...". I mean, HELLO, she was trying to make a point. Whatever.
I don't think I could have handled the drama.

Hey, thanks for the comment. And for taking the time to read the whole thing. I get that it's pretty typical for a 16-year-old to feel like that, but that's just how I felt. Like the world was conspiring to make my life hell. You know, as in "Hell is other people".
Anyway, thanks again. I'm always happy to have people take a look at my soul and then laugh at silly little me.

Uhm.....
........That's the world of nearly every teenager, regardless of age. To just be discovering this at 16 is very late. To finish with it at 16 is very early.

It spans from about late 13/early 14 right up to late 19/20/occasioanlly early 21 from what i've seen.

16 is just blissfully in the middle.
